Basics
What is SplashLens?
SplashLens is a free-core field reference app for pool service technicians and operators. It brings together pool parts evidence, troubleshooting references, dosing math, notes, stop proof, and shareable summaries when the workflow supports them.
Who is it for?
Pool service techs, company owners, trainers, facility operators, CPOs, and support teams who need clearer field evidence before deciding what to do next.
Is it free?
The core field reference workflow is positioned as free. Some extended online scanner or pro workflows may be offered separately as the product grows.
Service Proof Passport
What is Service Proof Passport?
It is the SplashLens proof and service-memory layer for a pool stop: readings, photos, model labels, codes, symptoms, notes, prior context, and a human-readable summary when available.
Why call it a passport?
Because each pool needs a record that travels with the work. The idea is simple: the next person should not have to rediscover the same labels, readings, symptoms, or history from scratch.
Can a passport be shared with a customer?
It can support customer-facing explanations, but a human should review the summary, remove anything internal, and make sure the wording matches company policy before sharing.
PartSnap
Does PartSnap guarantee the exact replacement part?
No. PartSnap is a proof and evidence workflow. It can suggest likely part families, visible evidence, missing proof, search terms, and escalation notes, but it is not a fitment guarantee or warranty approval.
What should a tech capture before ordering?
Model plate, serial or part markings, wide equipment photo, close-up of the failed part, plumbing context, controller/code photo when relevant, and any measurement or label that would reduce ambiguity.
AI and Offline Use
Are AI summaries always available?
No. AI-assisted summaries depend on supported online workflows and connectivity. Treat them as drafts for human review, not final decisions.
What works offline?
Manual reference tools can work offline after the app has loaded and cached them. Online camera scanning and AI-assisted summaries require internet.
Can AI diagnose a pool problem?
It can help organize visible evidence and draft reference-style guidance, but it should not be treated as a guaranteed diagnosis. Qualified professional judgment still controls.
Route/CRM Fit
Does SplashLens replace route software or CRM?
No. Route, billing, dispatch, customer records, and CRM tools run the business. SplashLens is the field reference and proof layer that helps the stop itself become clearer.
Can teams use it beside Skimmer, Pool Brain, Jobber, ServiceTitan, or paper?
Yes. The conservative workflow is export-first: collect evidence, review the summary, then paste, attach, or hand off the packet wherever the company already works.
Safety and Boundaries
Does SplashLens replace local code, CPO training, or manufacturer manuals?
No. Local code, facility policy, manufacturer documentation, warranty terms, CPO training, and qualified technician judgment still control.
Does SplashLens handle medical, legal, or compliance decisions?
No. SplashLens can help document field observations, but it is not a medical, legal, regulatory, compliance, or health-code authority.
What work should be escalated?
Electrical, gas, structural, line-voltage, warranty-sensitive, commercial code, contamination response, and any unsafe or uncertain situation should be escalated to the appropriate qualified person.
