Pool data stays on your device. Scanner, checkout, and waitlist actions use the services needed to run them.
Short version: pool profiles, chemistry history, route notes, and checklist data stay in your browser on your device. If you join the Route Ready pilot list or submit a partner, advisor, media, or tester inquiry, we store the contact details you provide. If you use the online AI scanner, your image is sent through our Cloudflare function to Anthropic for immediate analysis. If you upgrade PartSnap Pro, checkout is handled by Stripe. We also collect anonymous first-party usage events so we can see which free tools are being used and receive owner notifications when the app is actually opened or used.

We collect your email only if you submit a waitlist, pilot, partner, advisor, media, or tester form. We collect anonymous feature events such as page views, app opens, PWA install signals, scan starts, manual searches, PartSnap result views, upgrade clicks, and buy-link clicks to understand the launch funnel and know when the app is actually being used.
All data you enter into SplashLens - pool profiles, volume measurements, chemical history, route stops, checklist progress - is stored exclusively in your browser's localStorage on your own device. This data:
Because data lives only on your device, SplashLens cannot recover your data if you clear your browser storage or switch devices. We have no backup of anything you enter.
SplashLens does not use cookies for advertising or retargeting. We do not use fingerprinting. We run small first-party event endpoints on splashlens.com and app.splashlens.com to record anonymous launch and app activity such as page views, app opens, PWA install signals, AI scan starts, manual searches, PartSnap result views, upgrade clicks, and buy-link clicks. Event rows may include event name, page path, referrer, user agent, approximate country, display mode, and the small event properties needed to understand usage. These events do not include pool profiles, customer names, chemistry logs, route data, or submitted photos. App usage events may trigger an email notification to the SplashLens owner and are retained for up to 120 days.
The app uses a service worker for offline caching - this caches app files locally on your device and is entirely standard PWA technology. It does not track behavior.
SplashLens is hosted on Cloudflare Pages and delivered via Cloudflare's content delivery network. When you access the app, your browser communicates with Cloudflare's servers to download app files and call our serverless functions. Cloudflare may process standard HTTP request metadata such as IP address, browser type, and request timestamp as part of normal CDN and security operation. This is governed by Cloudflare's Privacy Policy.
SplashLens includes online AI scanner modes for equipment error displays, PartSnap part identification, and test strip field triage. Here is how scanner privacy works:
Anthropic's data handling for API calls is governed by Anthropic's Privacy Policy.
If you join the Route Ready pilot, request Google Play tester access, or submit a partner, advisor, sponsor, media, or training inquiry, we store the contact details you provide and the source of the submission in our Cloudflare D1 database so we can respond to that specific request. If you upgrade PartSnap Pro, payment checkout is handled by Stripe. We do not receive or store your full card number. Parts search links may open third-party sites; if an approved affiliate tag is configured later, SplashLens may earn a commission and will disclose that connection near those links.
SplashLens is a professional field reference tool intended for adult pool service technicians. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.
To remove all SplashLens app data from your device, clear your browser's site data for app.splashlens.com or uninstall the PWA from your home screen. Anonymous usage events expire automatically after up to 120 days. To request removal of a waitlist, tester, partner, advisor, media, sponsor, or support/contact record associated with your email address, contact [email protected].
If we materially change this Privacy Policy, we will update the effective date at the top of this page. We will not introduce data collection practices that contradict the core commitments in this policy without clear, prominent notice.
