Spa filter proof checklist

Spa filter cartridge and low-flow troubleshooting checklist

A low-flow, weak-jet, or no-heat spa call is often a filter proof problem before it is a pack, switch, pump, or heater problem. Capture dimensions and flow context before selling a cartridge or quoting hardware.

Capture first

1. cartridge length2. outside diameter3. inside diameter4. end-cap style5. molded number6. filter bay photo7. flow code8. water-care history

Field-safe checks

  1. Clean or replace damaged cartridges before assuming a failed flow switch.
  2. Use a brief filter-out comparison only as a diagnostic where safe; do not leave the spa unfiltered.
  3. Check whether the cartridge collapsed from age, wrong size, chemical damage, or high suction through a dirty filter.
  4. Save the proof packet for the distributor or vendor before ordering blind.
