Spa cover and cover lifter troubleshooting checklist

Covers and lifters are part of the heat-loss and safety story. A heavy, saturated, sagging, or badly fitted cover can look like a heater problem and can damage lifter hardware.

Field-safe checks

  1. Do not force a lifter carrying a saturated cover.
  2. Document whether waterlogged foam, seam failure, or poor fit is the root issue.
  3. Use cover pumps only for standing water, not failed foam cores.
  4. Check cover condition before blaming heater runtime.
