- Water temperature exceeded high limit switch setting (typically 135°F)
- Hi-limit switch failed closed or open
- Same flow issues as E02

- Allow unit to cool completely (20-30 minutes)
- Check water flow before resetting
- Test hi-limit switch resistance (should be closed/zero Ω when cool)
- Replace hi-limit switch if faulty
- Do NOT bypass — safety device
