What It Means
Low Salt Level
Likely Causes
- Salt level below minimum operating threshold (AquaRite target: 2700-3400 ppm, min 2700 ppm)
- Salt sensor dirty (calcium on sensor = false low reading)
- Cell producing less as it ages (cells become less efficient at detection near end of life)
- Recent heavy rain diluting pool water
Next Checks
- Test salt level with quality test kit or strips — AquaRite display can read 200-400 ppm low or high
- Add pool salt (evaporated, NOT rock salt or iodized table salt) if level confirmed low
- Clean salt sensor with vinegar
- If salt tests correct but code persists: replace cell or AquaRite sensor board
